Course in Egypt Planned for Islamic Broadcasting Union Members

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A course on “foundations of citizenship and social peace” is planned to be held in Egypt for members of the Islamic Broadcasting Union (IBU).

Representatives of 21 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will also take part in the program, shorouknews.com reported.

Slated for May 13-24, it will be organized in 6th of October in Giza Governorate of Egypt.

The Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf and the IBU will jointly hold the course under the supervision of Egypt’s Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa and IBU chief Amr El-Leithi.

It will feature discussion on raising awareness about citizenship principles, promoting the values of tolerance and moderation in the media, and enhancing the role of IBU in these efforts.

There will also be forums held with the participation of scholars and activists on the subject of the course.

Islamic Broadcasting Union, formerly known as Islamic States Broadcasting Organization (ISBO), is a media and public relations wing and one of the specialized body of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation focused on the promotion of Islam and mutual cooperation between the 57 member states through by producing several radio programs.
